I would say depending on the miles on it, $15 - $60, but it all depends on the rarity of that item where you live and its condition

$50 is reasonable.

The cam is not so much a big performance boost as the gain from reducing friction. Now go buy a good turbo roller cam and your in business. And get a multi keyway cam sprocket.

I've never been able to figure out, is the roller camshaft itself a hotter cam (what are the specs compared to the slider cam?) or are the power gains from lessening the resistance of the valvetrain?

There are no power gains...it's just a "stock replacement" roller cam that is more reliable than the slider. If there is a gain to be had, it's because the old slider was worn out. The roller actually has a bit less aggressive specs than the stock turbo cam.
