Hey guys its been a long time since Ive Posted here,Anyway... I picked up a 1989 LX 2.3l with a blown trans..the engine was brand new not even reman'ed and the trans was built by level 10...I am looking in to swapping in another 351W this time it needs to be backed by an AOD or a C-4...i'd rather go with an aod for simplicity and a stock look ..my question is wiring for the EFI...what car or truck can I get the engine/eec-iv harness out of? I know it has to be 1989 and up because it has to be a mass air car for ease of tuning and adding parts...if I where to use the harness and computer out of say a crown vic non interceptor model with a 5.0l would the computer be the same as a mustang computer? I mean in terms of performance Or would a truck computer work better...would a truck harness work ,would it fit the mustang? Mustang 5.0's are hard to come by in the junkyards around here otherwise i would just get it out of that. Any other help would be appreciated .or if anyone has the harness and its for sale lemme know.

Here are a couple of resources that should get you started in selecting a computer. I would stick with car computers though, as the settings would probably be different in a truck.

From what I remember ebay is actually a very good source for factory wire harnesses.

Here is some info on a 5.0 to 351w conversion (if I haven't subjected you to it already).

Good Luck, it sounds like a cool project.

I went the ebay route. You can expect to pay about $200 for a computer and wiring hardness. My swap worked out fine. I installed everything and the engine started right up and ran with a smooth idle.
