2.3l problems

hey i am havin problems with my 85 mustang. a few years ago i put a 2.3l turbo motor from an 88 turbocoupe in it. now i am havin a backfiring problem. needing some help to stop this problem. can anyone please help me? thanks

You're gonna have to elaborate on the problem a bit more than that for us to be able to help you out...

Most likely an ignition problem...plugs, wires, plug gap, etc...though more info would help tremendously.

well it doesnt do it all the time but i am drivin and its almost like i am getting to much fuel. it will sputter and thats when it backfires. i checked the spark plugs and they look good. i am not sure how else to explain it. it started to do this the last time i filled up with gas.
