2.5" Cowl for 351w Swap?????

Im bout to send my car to the paint shop in 2 weeks.... Im tryin to get everything rounded up for the painter. I need to buy a new rear bumper and new front side moldings. I know with my 351w i will have to have a taller hood for it to clear as i heard from many people. I was just wondering if a 2.5" cowl would be enough for me. I dont want to go any bigger than i need to. Thanks.

a 2.5" sounds like it should fit, Personally i would mabe even go a little bigger just to make sure, Id probably get a 3" Just to makse sure but im not 100% sure if it will fit or not

A 2.5" cowl should be plenty as the 351w is only about 1" taller.

However, folks will need more details, as there are many paths to take on the 351w conversion wich will affect hood clearance requirements.

For example, I am still using the stock hood.

Is the engine in the car and running?

Yea it really depends on what parts your using, but assuming nothing is TO radical I dont see any reason why it wouldnt fit under a 2.5" cowl. Like vristang said, is the engine in the car yet? If so, afew minutes with a tape measure should tell you exactly what you need.

No the motor is not in the engine bay yet, I will be runnin the victor jr intake with a barry grant carb.... Would that give me more clearance than a EFI or no?
