A buddy of mine just bought a 2000 GT 5spd that already had a paxton novi 1000 installed (a crappy install though). A few days after he bought it, it started grinding in first. It doesnt do it as he is putting it in first, which rules out a syncro. I have heard it many times, and it does it 50% of the time. He told me that it will occassionally(sp) do it in other gears as well. I myself have heard it in second.

What could cause this? At a minimum, the trans will probably have to be pulled and overhauled. Anyone know of a TSB/recall that may be out on this? I understand the dealer would likely claim that the supercharger is at fault, but he would like to know what the problem is. If it makes any difference, I know there is an aftermarket clutch in it as well. Its alot stiffer than mine, and mine is a stock clutch. It does not have an adjustable clutch quadrant/cable.

i have a '00 GT w/ a T-45 as well, and im experiencing all the same issues. i checked for TSBs on ALLDATA and there was one from '03. it was saying the shifter gets stuck in 1st and reverse, and there was another saying how it was hard to shift into 1st and reverse from a stop. all these problems im having. i dont know what to do about it though. its not like warranty work, is it?

What makes a crappy install on a blower?

Well whoever installed it left the oil return line (either the return or the oil feed line) just hanging over everything on top of the engine. They did not attempt to secure it at all. The other problem is that they tapped the hole in the oil pan too big and when they installed the fitting they left it touching the crank pulley! The crank pulley grinds on it all the time! Im sure by now it has a nice mark on the fitting. Not a clean install at all. Sounds like a bad bearing or something, and it really ruins the sound of the supercharger at idle with the hood open.
