We picked up a 2000 GT hood for 10 bux!
Will it bolt to our 1995 GT?

Looks like it should, but we don't want to disturb the original hood without knowing for sure.

If so, where can I see pics?

Thanks much!
Dave

i dont think it will fit but the stock hood comes off with 4 bolts and is an easy job for 2 people

the holes arent big enough to worry about the hood shifting around out of alignment

IT WILL LINE UP...FORD ONLY CHANGED THE WAY THE BODY LOOKS BUT ALL THE PARTS WILL BOLT UP 94-04 FOR SURE, WE HAVE DONE THIS AT THE BODY SHOP BEFORE, TRUST ME. iF YOU STRIP DOWN AN 04 AND A 94 ANS SWITCH THE PANELS YOU WILL HAVE DIFFERENT CARS.

The headlights are shaped differently so you'd have some pretty nasty gappage on the front. Not to mention the crisp edges of the newer hood looking like a sore thumb on the rounded body.

thats one thing i'm looking for, the gaps, since the new edge is alot more squared off.

I can't see it looking better then the stock hood, but we'll see. maybe monday i'll bolt it up and take some pictures.

Ok let me explain, the hood will bolt right up and the gaps from fender to hood will also line up, but then you have the headlight issue well if you bolt up a header panel from a 99+ the the headlights will also go right in, THEN you have the headlights to make them work you need the fenders from a 99+ which will also bolt right up AND line up with the doors, but then you have a 99+ front end only, what im trying to get at is that if you really wanted to you could make a 94 look just like an 04, the hardest part is welding in new quarter panels but even thats not hard with a little body shop know how. WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE on a friends 96 GT, we bought a 99 V6 with a blown motor and went to work, all it cost was a paint job in the end (900.00 Im a painter/bodyman by trade) and the 1,000 we paid for the v6.

He didn't ask if he could put a complete 99-up front end on an early SN95, or for that matter, do a complete body transformation, he asked if the hood would bold up. Which I guess technically it will, but it still won't look right without the rest of the car to go with it. So as stated above, he needs to do $2,000 woth of body work, to make a $10 hood fit!?!?! Doesn't seem very cost efficient to me?

got a picture?

I've always loved the 03 cobras so, thats what i would do with the car.

what did you have to do to get the tail lights to work?

I am in vocational school, completing my second year of auto collision. and i would love to do something a little different. My teacher already said I can repaint my car there for just the cost of paint, so i figure before i repaint it I could do this.

I was thinking just the front end, a tiny side skirt maybe, and maybe a newer rear bumper too. If the previous trunk will bolt in too, maybe, and the tail lights.

I'm getting pretty psyched, this could be a cool little project.

I'm just not sure how it would look without stuff like the doors being replaced too, because of how the car is rounded off, and the newer ones are squared off.

The hood is fiber.
Looks like the hood can be skinned, then hybrid into the skin of the earlier hood.
That would give the inset scoop of the later model, with the surrounding fitment of the original hood. Probably very easy, however it isn't going to happen now.
My uncle skinned the hood and is going to cut out the scoop portion for installing into another car. He is hybriding the scoop into a Maverick hood.

Edit:
Fwiw, the skin is fiberglass, then it is glued to an abs plastic frame.
The metal hardware is riveted to the plastic.
Just if anyone is interested.

I'd be interested to see a picture of this, but I could never bring myself to do a full frontal conversion to my 95. However, the stock new edge hoods are significantly more aggressive than ours...it would be interesting to see a picture

hello everybody ? I can buy hood from 1999-2004 and I neet quick respond becouse I want to paint my car and need to see how this will looks. Please give any photo.

from looking at pics, it looks like there would still be a mismatch between a new fender, and an old door, as the new doors are pretty flat all the way down and the old have that slight dip that carries through to the front fender...
so that wouldn't even work lol

you can skin the doors (replace outer skin only) and you can drill new holes on the mounting panel for the rear lights AFTER you weld in new quarter panels, as hor headlights, it's as easy as switching to a 99+ header panel but the rest of the 99+ front end has to go on also.

found on sn95 forums.
