I have a 03 GT with 39k miles on it. This past weekend I was ran off the road and struck a roadside reflector. There is minor damage to the right front bumper cover and to the front fender quarter panel. I removed the CAI that had the filter inside the fenderwell and put the stock on it. It ran fine over the weekend, but yesterday the RPMs jumped to anywhere between 1800 - 2400 rpms at idle. I think it has dropped to about 1000 rpms 2 or 3 times, but only for a second then right back up. Anyone know why or have a fix for this. I checked the throttle and it is all the way closed and the throttle position sensor appears to be fine. Thanks for your help.

Did you check the throttle cable too? That's the only thing I could think of, I have no idea why the car would want to rev like that by itself.

rpm

I had trouble with my RPM when my friend took off the stock intake tube and didn't connect the Valve cover breather hose back up, i guess the computer messes up because its getting more air than the MAF meter is measuring. Check that out, other than that i have no idea. my Rpms would drop at idle never raise up ?! so who knows.
