2000 vs 2005 V6 (makin sure)

now i have recently gotten a 2005 mustang V6 one month ago with about 500 miles on it. Now i recently found out that one of my friends has bought a 2000 V6 mustang with around 50k+ miles on it. now this friend is one whom is incredibly competitive, no matter the circumstances and wants to race me. now ive been reading forums for months now and am 99% sure that it would be no real competition. im just makin sure here lol,
now im positive that i am a better driver than he is, but because they both auto's i dont believe that would make a real difference.
basically what he keeps saying is that even though my car has more HP and more torque he would still take me because his is probably lighter.
(does any1 know what his speed limiter is set at?)

IIRC, the 2000 V6s made 190HP or so, and had a 4-speed automatic. I'm pretty sure the weight is almost the same between the two, or so close that it won't really matter.

I think you would take him, but maybe not by much. Just my guess though.

His speed limiter is set at 115mph

The 05 v6 is said to do 0 to 60 in 6.9 seconds. The v8 GT's are 5.2, 5.4 & 5.8 depending on the model I think.

Your 05 V6 has about a 20 hp advantage (210 vs 190) and a 15 ft-lb torque advantage (240 vs 225). I'm not sure about weight... but if it's close like some have stated, you should win... if not by too much.

Either car will a blast to drive anyway...

only thing that might be to your disadvantage is the torque limiter in 1st gear... I don't know if the 2000 had it and if they did what effect they had on them... All i know is it's almost impossible to chirp the tires in a stock 05 automatic... LOL

agreed lol, ive been lokin for a place to do a tune and to get a price range. *btw, sry if this is a stupid question, but do u need an xcal for a tune or could they just redo the comp in the car to take out the rev limiter?*
