Ive been fighting overheating issues on a 2001 cobra. When it first started running hot I limped it home and replaced the thermostat which solved the issue. Then a few days later when we installed a upr coolant crossover delete kit, now the car is overheating again. We vacuum bled the system but that made no difference. My main concern is that when we installed the coolant crossover delete kit we simply blocked off the thermostat bypass hose that would normally for other coolant crossover. Is this the main cause for our issues or could it be something else. Thanks for all responses.

I'm having a hard time visualizing the setup. Both front ports are flowing or just one side is flowing? Got a pic of what you did?

pretty much got the upper rad hose flowing to the two crossover ports in the heads. But the hose that would typically go from the coolant crossover to the thermostat housing is blocked off with a plug at the end of the hose. Car no longer overheats after vacuum bleeding the system several times.

So, a Y block from each port on head to the upper hose then a block off to bypass. Did you drill out t stat or anything to bypass? How is the water pump handling having now where to send water when t stat is closed? (Or am I over thinking this?)

Sorry for the late response, been fighting other stuff with the car. But we did drill a hole in the thermostat. So I would imagine that serves well enough as a bypass. Car no longer overheats though. I appreciate all the input, we probably will have to go to a new thermostat setup, as this one was only temporary.
