When driving my 2001 gt I get a whining noise that to me sounds like its coming from the left rear, but that could be because I am on the left side. I was on the interstate today cruising at around 70 mph. The faster the car goes the louder the sound gets. It is present at lower speeds but mainly in 3rd,4th &5th gears and only while accelerating. If I lift my foot off the accelerator pedal the sound goes away but immediately returns when I accelerate again. I was thinking maybe while accelerating its putting a load on the rear end and I am hearing the whine then. Has anyone experienced a problem like this? Advice appreciated.
