I've been searching the usual places for a 2002 stock wheel for a V6. You know the star pattern 16" wheel. But what I have been fidning is that there were a few such wheels that Ford used as stock that year.

Mine has the painted silver wheel with a flush plastic hub cap that springs loads onto the wheel. Is there a 'KEY' word to use when looking for this wheel.

I have also found a like wheel but with a slight machine look to the star and the center has exposed lug nuts and hence a larger diameter hubcap.

I'm not looking to spend on new wheels just need the replacement.

Thanks

The correct term for the finish is "Argent."

There should be only 3 types of 16x7.5 wheels in 2002. All are the same 5 spoke design.

The 1st is Argent which only had a solid hubcaps with the unpainted Mustang logo.

The 2nd is the polished with argent inserts(this is what you found). These could have solid hubcaps with black Mustang logos, or 5-hole hubcaps with no logo.

The 3rd is an all chrome version with the 5-hole hubcap also in chrome. This was only available on the Ponypackage which was only available in Florida in 2002.

In 2003 they added a new hubcap to the 2nd version(polished with argent inserts) for use on cars with the "V6 performance package."

Okay, but it's SHINY polished as opposed to the 2nd style which is like an ALLOY polished. How about that?

I have a set of '01 Argent stock wheels in the attic. I doubt if anyone would buy them as a set, so I thought about selling them singly on Ebay for people who need replacements. If you want one, let me know and I'll sell you one for the cost of shipping.

If they're the 16x7.5 5-spokes I could use one. I'm putting a set of the polished ones on my '66 and could use an extra as a spare.
