Heyy everyone, My dad has been working on my 2003 Mustang. We are looking for whatever is needed to convert the brakes to the 2003-04 Mustang Cobra brakes.. Sorry for the dumb question but we want to make sure we have everything to change it over so if anyone could tell us what all we need please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

It’s pretty simple.

On a 2003 GT, all you need are a pair of 13” cobra rotors and a set of 99-04 loaded Cobra calipers complete with pads.

You do not need new soft brake lines. You can replace yours if they are old and you want fresh ones.

You do need specific banjo bolts for the cobra calipers. The GT ones are too long and hit the piston. Test fit then before starting as there is a coarse and fine version.

When you bleed the brakes, don’t forget to bleed the two bleeders on the master cylinder as well.

Make sure you have 17” wheels, and keep in mind your spare tire no longer fits the front.

Good luck. Its a fun mod

There are full kits avail via LMR or you can junkyard source them. Mach and bullit brakes are the same but don't have the cobra insignia on them.

Ah yes, there are kits. I'll be honest, you can prob get it cheaper sourcing it from Rockauto.com

You don't need the front brake hoses on a 99-04 car. They are all the same, but never a bad idea to swap out 20-25 year old rubber components.

Agreed, much cheaper ways to source but be very careful of even rock auto these days. So MANY counterfeit/junk parts these days- rock auto is not immune. That being said absolutely replace those old rubber hoses lol. Hard line kits are reasonable these days and makes the pedal so much more responsive.
