I've had a full Bassani exhaust for a few months now & can't seem to get over the fact that it sounds like a coffee can full of bb's when I step on it. Anyone else have this setup? Does it sound like that for you, or is something rattling around on mine?
Hey me and my wife just bought a 2001 cobra convertable with a full stainless steel bassani exhaust. When we get to a certain rpm in every gear it sounds like your coffee can description. I took it to an exhaust place and they said it could be a loose baffle in one of the mufflers. The old owners said it could be something with the clutch but i have no clue. Let me know if you figure out anything.

FWIW, the "coffee can" exhaust sound is audible for a couple of reasons usually.
The first is that infact, the material in the catalytic converters (IF EQUIPPED) in your aftermarket Bassani midpipe may have broke and are rattling around inside. Remove the midpipe and knock out the honeycomb shaped material.
The second reason is that sometimes running certain midpipe and catback combinations can produce that undesirable "coffee can" rattling sound. Generally speaking, it's usually heard with an offroad
X-pipe and a chambered style muffler catback system (IIRC).
What exactly does your entire exhaust system consist of ? Are you running a true "full" exhaust - meaning Bassani headers, Bassani midpipe, and also a Bassani catback ? Or just one or two components?
The best way to eliminate the sound is to crawl underneath the car and inspect for any loose exhaust clamps, bolts, hangers, baffles (look inside the tip of your exhaust pipes by the bumper), etc. If all of those bolts are tight, then it could be one of the other two above items I mentioned.
