Quick question for you all, I have recently installed a cam 230/232 .600" 110 LSA, new springs retainers etc..., Longtube headers with true duals dumped before the rearend, and 4.10 gears. Do you think I have enough to take a 2003+ cobra? Ive never raced a newer cobra so I dont know. I just hear all this talk like there the fastest thing on the street. I know this is a mustang site so no biased awnsers please. Ive raced 2001's but never a supercharged one. Ive been looking around on this forum for a little while now and it seems like everyone is pretty straight. Im not looking to start any crap I like cars no matter what they are. This is on a 2001 Camaro SS BTW.

hmmmm

Those are some great mods you have there and I too love american muscle of all types. I own a 03 Cobra and just recently smoked a Z28 really bad and i mean bad but not sure if it was modded or not. You definantly will not get beat bad IF you even loose. I live in a small town so my good races are few and far between. How much RWHP do you have. The 03's stock have made around 350-360 RWHP.

I havent dynoed it yet. Im waiting to get HP Tuners so i can dyno tune it. From what I've seen though with similar mods and a good tune people are putting down anywhere from 400rwhp to 450rwhp.

stock 03 cobra you would most likely take with those numbers but unfortunately anyone who is going to race you with an 03 cobra I would bet my bottom dollar thatits not stock anymore. Our Cobras are so easy, quick and cheap to mod out there aren't to many running stock anymore. But hey keep on modding it out man they can never be fast enough :nice:

You'd be giving stock 03/04's a good run for their money with the combo you have. gtstangrunner is right though... most of the 03/04 Snakes tooling around looking for a little action are not going to be stock. I'm one of the few people around here who is still running a stock 8psi pulley. Most of the guys out on the street are running the smaller pulley (2.93/2.76) and at a minimum, catback and CAI. Those 3 little mods plus a tune will put the Cobra somewhre in the 440-460 RWHP area.

U.M.

I would take it easy until you get it dyno tuned. That is a fat cam! We have a guy with a 2002 WS6 that hast long tubes, exhaust, lid, and a cam (228-232/590-590 113LSA and he put down 400 rwhp and 407 with cut out open.

You should be higher with that cam and a good dyno tune. This guys runs 12.2s at 117 with 2.1 60 ft. He needs more traction and more practice (so he says!)

Well it looks like ill just have to go hunting and find out :D

I think you would take a stock Cobra if you are a good driver and have atleast 340-350 rwhp. Those cars are heavy.

There is an 03 around my town with a ported blower with a 2.93 pulley and exhaust with a chip running 116-117. There was also a stock one that ran 108...so it is all driver. In that same night, I remember two freak stock WS-6's running high 107-108's. Most I see are around 104-105. The thing is that you will never know until you try!!

Good luck.

The LS1 will pull ahead of the Cobra towards the end of the quarter.

We watched 4 LS1's run at e-town and the slowest ran 13.2 and his car was stock class (It did have exhaust though). Those LS1's are insane.

around here, there are plent of bolt-on and cammed LS1s (no heads or intake) running mid 11s. there's even one in particular that posts on a local website running 6.80s in the 1/8th which should be good for 10.70s in the 1/4. of course, it's got all sorts of suspension mods, and weight reduction, but thats fast anyway you look at it. it's not only about the power you make (even though it helps. :nice: ) take it to the track and see what it does. that's the only way you'll truly ever know.

Got my 03 Cobra and ran my dad in his 2000 SS Z28 with at that time only had long tubes, cold air (whisper lid), gears, 3500 stall and home made tune on his LS1 Edit and with the F1's on the Cobra he ate me up , but when I put the Nitto's on I beat him about 2 lengths in the 1/4 , with him still eating me up out of the hole.Stock I ran 12.70's the best I could get, at about 113 mph. Now dad has gone and added a cam, dual springs, different intake and a couple other small things and I added the smaller pulley, K&N filter, X-pipe with catbacks, couple other small things and we ran last month at a charity event (the track was not prepped , no traction) and I ran a 11.95 at 117mph to his 11.96 at 109 mph. Pretty close huh? Talk about a blast. I'm 44 years old and this was the first stick shift car I ever ran down the track. Dad is 65 years old and having a blast.
