2003 mach 1 problem shifting

i have a 2003 mach 1 i do test and tune on fridays just about every other friday. when i try to shift from second to third it like wont go in or it gets caught up or something it happens kinda often. i was wondering what could cause this what would fix it. also i have the five speed im wondering where to check the transmission fluid and what kind it takes?

I believe it's the synchro's. '03's are known for this problem. Under hard acceleration you get locked out of gear. I knew a guy with an '03 who had this problem but he got it fixed under warranty.
