What I have is a 2004 Mustang GT with a 5 speed with 44K on it. I am wondering what kinds of mods would be the best, i dont want a power adder and im not trying to make it the fastest mustang alive just something with a little more nut. It already has a K&N intake. My thoughts were headers, im curious if long tubes would be overkill and I like the sound of SLP loudmouth 2 with an off road X. I was wondering if its worth the time to get a bigger MAF sensor and throttle body and a programer, and If i did would I have to upgrade the injectors. I know that gears would help too and im going to go with some 3.73s with the other mods. Sorry to ask so many questions I just want to get it all over with in one shot. Thank you for any help.

Best mods for you would be the 3.73 gears, Xcal III custom tune, full exhaust including LT headers (do not even think of getting short headers, they are a waste of money), 75mm TB, plenum, mm full length sub frame connectors and seeing as you want to stay N/A go for the steeda U/D pullies. You would have one fun car and you would be putting down close to 270 rwhp.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking I just wanted to get peoples opinions of things to do. Its actually a car my friend bought. Im guessing things like injectors would be a waste of time unless you put a bigger cam in it, and obviously fuel pump which if we dont need to do that id rather not.

Stock Gears

Hey, I just bought a 2004 mustang GT, it had 3.73 gears in it because The shift time is a lot less between gears and the rpms are higher and since Im not racing it, they are a pain the the neck. I had the dealership put the stock gears back in and now there's a humming noise comming from it. WTF is up with that crap!?!?!

Why the crap would you go back to stock gears Anyways, to the OP, Yes LT's are worth it. Go with LT's o/r x and lm2, the 3.73's, full length subrames, a bigger maf is a waste of money. The steeda udp's are also a great way to free up some power. If its a 5-speed you'll definately want a short throw. Oh yea and a programmer

Yeah i think we are going to go with a hurst shifter. Anyone know if you can get the chrome lever for them like you can the 87-93 style? If so pics would be great. The tranny has to come out anyways because it grinds third so while its out we are going to throw a new clutch in and a cable and adjuster so if anyone has any good thoughts on those, I dont think we need a 500 dollar clutch but a little better than stock wouldnt hurt.

I'd go 4:10's. Still can cruise 75mph under 3k.
