Parasitic draw resulting in dead battery. Ford dealer diagnosed bad amp in original 1000 shaker system. Has anyone had this problem and replaced the amp? Will this be an ongoing problem? Should I replace system with aftermarket system?
If the parasitic draw is due to amplifier failure, replacing it will fix the problem.
Amplifier failures causing a parasitic draw is actually pretty common in older cars. I've seen and fixed it in Ford, GM, and even Land Rover products over the years.
