I was checking these out at a dealer in NY, and they are impressive. I was wondering if anyone here has one, or has experience with one in any way. What are the overall opinions, and is this an overpriced option for a mustang?
There was a s281, and a s281 with a supercharger. Not sure how a supercharger can hold up after several years.....or how reliable it is.

What do you mustang experts think of the Saleens?
Thanks in advance! :flag:

Saleen is not for the value conscious. The value of the price paid for Saleen styling will be subjective from person to person.

Currently, Saleen has the most efficient supercharger, but not the best 'value' if you are looking for the biggest horsepower numbers.

I don't like the ass end of the Saleen, but I like the rest. My avatar is a stock GT with the Saleen front fascia and hood. To me, my avatar looks badass.

I have an 05 Saleen and yes they are not a Value Proposition at all!! However they are far and away the best handling mustang out there by far and you will have to be prepared for all the attention you will get with one. I bought mine as a normally aspirated car in January but by april realized that it really needed more go to go with all that show so I had the local Saleen dealer install a S/C. The addition of the supercharger was the best thing I could have done for the car - it is now a very good driver in all aspects as it will handle side by side with an 05 corvette (non Z06) and has nearly the same acceleration. I was really looking for a good fun weekend driver that would do everything well and this car has definitely delivered - Yes they are expensive and Yes you could build out an 05 in some respects cheaper but I seriously doubht you could give it the full package any cheaper and still have the drw this car has. I am very happy with the decision to get this car.

Gorgeous car, that's exactly what I am thinking about. Supercharged, Torch Red.

If you don't mind me asking, did you pay MSRP, or did you get it a little lower? MSRP seems a bit steep......the dealer I went to said they only sell it MSRP. 50k is alot considering I could get a new vette for less than that. But I really love the Saleen look, and rareness. I never see them by me.
