Somebody please tell me why my trunk keeps popping up??? Yes it only does it while i'm moving and yes i have the Shaker 1000 w/ subs and YES it always does it when im listening to the radio.... at volume... NO. It still shouldn't do it haha
check for a loose/damaged wire. start by popping off the trunk cover and look near the latch assembly. if all is ok, follow the wires farther in the trunk. i had a similar electrical issue that was a broken insulation on the wire. was not the trunk latch, but similar situation. try as many things to try to replicate the problem while not moving, and radio off. that will help you narrow the possibilities down.

I had a similar problem with the door locks. We were driving on a nice mountain road and any hard cornering or quick maneuvers, the doors would lock or unlock. Found out the wifes keys were in her purse on the floor. When the car would move, her purse would rock a bit and her remote was being pressed on by something in her purse. Drove me crazy for about 30 min. on that ride.
Sounds like yours only does it when the shaker is on. Have you tried driving without the radio to see if it still does it? Is there a certain type music it opens to? As stated, check the wiring. Could be anything from a pinched wire to one chaffing on something.
do you have anything in the trunk?? b/c i would check that emergency handle to see if it is secured in place, i had something in my trunk once that actually pulled on it and released the trunk from the inside.. cant explain the shaker part though... maybe coincidencee
something else to consider... the other day i was driving and i kneed my fob while it was in the ignition and it unlocked the doors... i guess i hit it just right... try to duplicate the problem with no other keys on the ring except the fob and ignition key...
Ditto here on "items in the trunk", as a cause. Had this happen to me last week and it drove me insane. After I emtied the contents of the trunk, viola! No more mysterious trunk opening. Good luck!
yeah i thought about the knee-ing thing too. thats not it although it does hang low and dangle on my knee. Nothing in the truck, although the emergency handle always seems to work itself loose and I am always velco - ing it back where its supposed to be... Hmmmmm....
