2007 hood scoops

Ok first of all the post of comments and pictures has me scared to death about the hood scoop Ford is putting with the GT appearence package. I got one ordered and here is what I had in mind.

I currently drive a 1997 F150. It has a 4.6L with a Paxon super charger. I have had to replace the blower three times since I bought the truck. I currently have 270k miles, with the blower being my bigest expense. Big deal, I think I have gotton my moneys worth. Not to mention a sleeper that has really suprised some people from time to time.

My intentions were to make the hood scoop functional on the 2007 GT I have ordered and put a blower on this engine as well. Please tell me I have not made a big mistake.

I wouldn't bother making it functional; converting to a carburetor is a lot of work!

i dont understand fully what you want to do... the hoodscoop in the middle of the hood would require fabrication to "function" add a blower to this combo and its even more difficult.

Appearence means just that. Don't feel bad though, it looks better than a plain stock hood.

To blow or not to blow

Yea I guess I really didnt think this thing through. It would be allmost impossible to make it functional. When I get the car if I dont like the hood I guess the easyiest thing would be to change the complete hood. I really have the intention to not put a lot of aftermarket money into this car. But the blower is probably still gonna happen.

I got the ram air hood from Cervini's, spend your money on a hood not a scoop

I had a body shop beg me NOT to put a scoop on the stock hood. They said they love the way it looks without a scoop. And the more I look at the hood, the more I agree.

Love the Cervini's look. I see that you are running the WMS intake with it. Just curious do the holes on the front of the hood vent straight into the tray or off to the side where the other CAIs normally are?

I think the stock hood looks a little wimpy on these cars, I may be going with the steeda Q hood when funds allow.
