So I dont know if anyone has seen the article on the front page of s/n about the 08 bullitt, and i think that im a little disappointed. I mean it looks almost just like a gt, boring bumpers, and nothing other than the grill that really make it look a noticeable amount different. Havent seen the seats yet, but the way they are described they should be nice, but the 01 seats are gonna be hard to beat. The rest of the interior looks pretty good and unique, love the shifter knob . And i must say, why only 315 hp..... Boo ford on that one. Shouldve had a n/a 5.4, i think at least. And they are making 7 some thousand of em, way too many. Overall, it could be a nice car, and maybe it is much nicer to drive than the regular gt, we wont know that for a while, but i think ford couldve done a lot more with it than they did.

Well, I think the car looks well. I'm waiting to hear how much the handling was beefed. For the money, I'd probably rather get a Shelby GT.

Meh is my first impression. I liked the new edge Bullitt edition right off the bat with it's special interior and intake. With all the special edition S197s out there, I don't see this one taking off.

I don't think they should have made another one so soon. I love the '01 Bullitt tho! Hopefully they don't try to make a new Mach 1 too.

It's the same FRPP performance package ford has on the Shelby basically and offeres for sale. The front of the Bullit looks a V6 and wingless look doesn't help that factor (although nessesary). The wheels are nothing special, but thank god they didn't go chrome. In all honesty this was exactly what i expected, they weren't going to put an FI 5.4 in it and a N/A 5.4 would make it more expensive and have no hp, just low end torque + the added weight. They should have incorporated a new head design like they did w/ the PI and released it in the Bullit then later release it on the 09' GT.

It needs the silver horse side window louvers. The 01 bullit only was a 5hp gain over the stock 99-04 stangs. The 08 bullit is 15hp over a stock 05+ stang. All in all it seems to be a good car, just needs the window louvers.

I still think the 4v 5.4 wouldve made the difference in that car versus all the other special edition mustangs. And it wouldve sounded badass. The other thing that seems off i guess is the brakes, grey callipers?? how exciting... Is there anything other than the color that is the difference?

thanks man. Im not up to date on the s197's

I have to agree with the poster of this thread. I looked at the article, tried to be optimistic, but the car looks like crap. Once again, Im not up to par with the s197's, the minor differences in the body(fenders, grill, hood, spoiler, etc) or even the wheels from one year to another, but I see quite a few new GT's running around that look much, much better. They should have at least given it a metal intake for somebody to hack away at....

Now if it had the Hurricane 5.0 then yes it would be worth it (and no im not saying that the 3v 4.6 aint worth it).

great point!

I wanna see some hardcore info.

I've personally seen a stock 01 bullit, bone stock, air filter and all, go 13.33 at HRP with nitto 275/40's. Maybe the new bullitt will perform better than we think. However, I still dont think it looks good. The interior is sweet though
Hope this one can perform

They have to save something for the Boss/Mach 1. Those will get the better motor options. If you put a 5.0 or 5.4 into a Bullitt, what do you put into the Boss/Mach?

If you use the same motor, people would bitch about no significant power increase over the Bullitt.

The current Bullitt represents what it did at the time of the original movie. It was merely a simple debadged Mustang GT with a Highland Green paint job and the same 390 engine you could get with any GT. Steve Mcqueen didn't get a huge power increase, then why should we?

Its too dull, no brake upgrade or Intake upgrade etc
I'd rather have an 01.
