Looking to get a CAI for my '09 V6. Any opinions on the AirAid CAI along with the AirAid throttle body spacer? Also, I've seen that it improves gas mileage. Anyone with any knowledge of this? If so, how much of an MPG increase should I expect?
Skip throttle body spacers unless you are looking for a new paperweight. They don't do anything for our cars.
Does the AirRaid CAI require a tune? If it doesn't require a tune then that tells you that you didn't do anything to change the flow and you are the same as stock. Get a tuner and CAI combo (like the C&L with a SCT Xcal and tunes). That will wake your car up.
The AirAid does not require a tune. I know the HP gains would be nice, but with gas prices continuing to go up, I was looking more for the fuel economy gain.
Thanks for the info on the spacer. I wasn't sure. I don't know much about the new motors. Only other car I've worked on was a '66 6 cyl.
