I am getting back into the Mustang scene here soon. I have pretty much been away since 2010 when I sold my 2003 GT and got married. I KNOW I want the new 5.0. I KNOW I want a manual transmission, but beyond that I am trying to decide between the 2011/12 or the 2013/14 cars. I plan to buy in the coming Fall/Winter months to try to get the best possible deal.

I like the front nose of the 2013/14 cars and really the updates tails also. Beyond that I don't have a strong opinion. Why do you guys think the 2011/12 or 2013/14 is the best option?

Well the styling is really the main difference, the 13-14s also have track apps, and an 8hp bump. In my opinion if you prefer the styling of the 13-14 then that's what you should get. However it also depends on what you are looking for as far as equipment, because buying an 11-12 may allow you to get more car for your money. For example you might be able to buy an 11 Brembo car for the same price as a '13 Base GT with comparable mileage.

Agreed drive train is the same from 11-14 (outside of oil squirters on 11-12 blocks) so it depends on getting the best deal you can.

I've heard of some mechanical failures with the 2011/12 Mustangs that aren't in the 2013/14 but other than that the LED headlights in the 2013/14 are much brighter and look better in my opinion. For some reason some people have issues with the older halogens.
