Should I go with the steeper gears or stick with stock? How much will the 3.35's effect gas mileage and 1/4 mile times? I am guessing loose 2 MPG and 3 tenths faster in the quarter. Which for a daily driver?

In some cases, changing gears can actually yield mileage IMPROVEMENTS, in the city. Highway will drop a couple MPG's though usually.

True but they didn't get the v6 to have 31 mpg without research!

OP: Your numbers are probably about right. 2mpg based off of what though? Knowing our lead feet and performance you won't get anywhere near 31mpg in the first place so the gearing would probably be a good option anyways...

3.73s would be perfect with the V6. I don't think Ford offers them as an option when you buy the car but you can get them after. I have 4.10 gears, 350 crank hp, 4 speed automatic and a V8 but still can get over 23mpg on the highway. With this new v6, six speed transmission and 3.73s I don't see why you couldn't get 30mpg on the highway.

FYI... The standard rear gear is 2.73, and the optional rear gear is 3.31.

I doubt that will even be able to find 2.75 or 3.35 gears unless they are custom made.
