2012 Rear Dif Option

I see in the order guide for the '12 Gt that there is an option for a helical gear LSD. ==> http://www.stangnet.com/images/stories/docs/2012MustangOrderGuide.pdf

Can I assume that my '11 has a clutch type LSD?

Are the helical type that much better? Is it a performance or longevity issue?

Wonder what brand/size tire with race compound for those 19 x 10 rear wheels. I have found no current sticky tire that will fit a 19 x 10 wheel.

You'll have an option to order either a Torsen or Eaton Detroit Truetrac (whatever Ford chooses to make avail.) diff instead of a clutch type. Should help with launching and with high speed cornering in conjunction with stability control

The Torsen diff. is std. on the Laguna Seca and opt. on the base Boss 302 ... the way I read it, it will NOT be a factory option on regular GT's.

The Torsen diff. has been in the FRPP catalog for a while now, but I think the Boss 302 is the 1st useage of it on a Mustang from the factory.

Nah was just hoping it wasnt. Because I wanted one as an option.

On the order book posted above it has a star next to engine and transmission for the 2012 Gt.. it also says that it's new for the 12...

What did they change?
