2031 with 1.6 Rollers

awhile back I saw a 2031 powermax for sale locally that I couldn't pass up. I paid 50 bucks for the cam and spring kit still in the wrapping. I was working on a 1988 mustang project with recently rebuilt Home ported E7s, keith black hyp. pistons, typhoon intake, 19 lbs inj.,and a 65 MM tb. Not exactly the best combo to work with this cam. The 2031 i bought was made for 1.7 rockers and gt-40 heads. Has anyone tried one with 1.6s and e7s Good idea or bad idea?

anyone?? Any input on this topic would be useful. Whether its good or bad. Searched the forums and found a few that mentioned using 1.6 rollers with the 2031 grind but nothing on the outcome or pros and cons. I haven't bought either 1.6rr or 1.7rr. I know my E7s will hold this cam back with 1.7s, but i don't know what might happen with the 1.6s.

which size pushrods did you end up having to use with the 1.6's?

I used the Crane 36623-16, they are 6.375".
But I had to use varying amounts of shims on each rocker. I ended up having to buy 2 sets of shims.
