yes this is the correct way to do the conversion. i just learned how to do it in auto tech class lol. you can also figure it out if you know the bore and stroke but i dont know how many people actually know that for their car.DanM said:1 inch = 25.4mm.

16.387cm^3 = 0.016387 Liters.
So 232 cubic inches = 232 x 0.016387 = 3.801 Liters
Or 281 cubic inches = 281 x 0.016387 = 4.605 Liters
It's just rounding error. Remember that a "4.6L" engine can be anywhere from 4.55L to 4.64L. Same works the other way around too - a 232ci engine could really be 231.5, or 232.4.
