Ok, so I put 24# injectors in my car along with the C&L calibration tube fro 24#ers. It starts up, idles like crap and runs like crap. It hesitates and pops and just generally acts like crap. Any ideas? All of my mods and stuff are in my sig. Thanx.

heard you cant use a cai ith c and l kits. I myself have a cold air intake but have a lot of pipe before the meter. I actually did an experiment on this on my car before ith the af in ther engine bay. just the air that my mk8 fan was creating would cause the car to surge and whatnot. those c and l units are very sensitive to noise and other air

Do the simple stuff first...

Clocking the MAF is useful when you have a cold air kit or some other modification to the air box or air inlet before the MAF.

Clocking is turning the MAF housing so that the sensor element is in a different position. It changes the airflow through the MAF to place the sensor pickup in the place where the airflow is the least disturbed.

My C&l ran fine with similar mods. Are you sure they sold you the right sample tube. I would also check to make sure nothing happened to the mass air wires when you transplanted it to the C&L meter. One last thing, Do you know any body that has a Pro-M 24LB that you could swap temporarily to do a test. If the Pro-M fixes the problem, it would at least let you know that it is the meter and not something else. (Ie. injector harness not hooked up properly)

Blue is the right colour if your using the stock A9L computer. I see by your list of Mods that you converted to mass air. If you are using a Cobra computer, I have heard that you need to use a different sample tube due to the fact that the Cobra computer is calibrated for 24 Lb injectors in the first place.

I seriously think you should see if someone has a Pro-m meter so you can try to isolate the problem.

I have both, but by the time the Canadian postal service got my Pro-M down to you, you'd probably be driving a nuclear powered flying car.

Well, its the blue tube and A9L computer. Is the A9L a cobra computer? I've heard about C&L and cai not working well together, but it ran fine on the 19's. I'll ask around and see if anyone has a ProM. It sucks b/c I don't have the stock air box, wasn't on there when I bought it. Maybe some PCV between the meter and filter, ha

1 very obvious thing.... are all the injector clips on tight?? -hey don't laugh, i drove 10 min. like that :nonono: )

:stupid:

Thats why I mentioned the injector harness. I once just about went crazy trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with my car and it turned out the injector harness had come loose and was making intermittent contact. Car ran great/car ran like crap/ can ran great/ car ran like crap etc. Like Nazstang and a bunch of other guys have already said- Check the simple stuff first.

clock it 90 degrees towards the engine and then trim your fuel pressure back to 36 lbs with vacuum off and plugged , that should help tremdously , it did on mine .....check the injector wiring too ...cyl 1 and 2 (front 2 cyl on pass side) the plugs on the injectors can get crossed if you arent careful......also try turning your idle up to about 900-950 rpms ..that should take care of most of it , good luck ........

whats your timing at ? pull 2 more lbs of fuel pressure out and try it again .....ive checked mine with my wideband and had to take the fuel all the way down to 33 to get a good air fuel ratio out of it , other wise it was like 12.0-11.8 air fuel ....
