OK, simple question: will a 245 fit on a 17x10.5?

details:
I plan on upgrading to 17x9/10.50 and do not need new tires and I was wondering if this would work for a while till in need new tires.

Eventually I plan on 245 or 255 front and 285 or possibly 315 rear.

Are you kidding me?? Won't even come CLOSE to fitting. I have 295/35s on my 18x10.5s and even thats not enough meat; my rims stick out and are 100% vulnerable to curbs.

315's are extremely expensive. 295's have a much better selection and the prices are much cheaper.

OK, cool. I was not too sure it would work. Guess, i'll have to get the rear tires w/ the rims and I'll have an extra set of stock 245 for the front I can run or ebay them.

how ghetto would 245/285 (or 315) f/r be?

I am running 265/35/18s on 18x9's up front and 295/35/18's on 18x10.5's in the rear, and the rear tire is about a quarter inch taller. The front tires are thin, 245/35's would be like rubber bands IMO.

IMHO, not ghetto. Or at least I don't think my car is What you have to do is have 40-series in front and 35-series in rear. My combo is a 245/40R18 in front and 285/35R18 in rear. They are within 1/8" of the same height.

It will be very sstupid thing to do. 275 on 8" rim is I think is pushing. Althought I have heard in the past some DR 275 will fit.

you'll regreat it. I just got NT555 285/35/18 on my 18X10.5, and I wish I ordered at least 295. they look about just made it. almost no rim guard. I know 275 will fit, but it'll look like a poo

Nittos are notorious for running a little thinner than other tires. If you are going to get 10 inch wheels, get a good size tire to go with it. I got 10.5s in the back and the 285s are going on tomorrow. I originally ordered 315s but they were out of stock and not getting here till 3/22. I couldn't wait that long and couldn't afford an extra $300 for different 315s. Hopefully they will be ok. Next time I am definitely getting 315s though.

haha its funny all the guys with 18's are trying to tell ZJ tire sizes for 18's even though hes getting 17's which to me makes it a different story. No, the 245's wont fit at all. I believe 275's is the smallest tire on a 10.5" rim and I dont know possibly 335's could maybe fit but probably not. I have 285/40/17s on my 10.5" bullitts and its perfect for me.

Yes derek, they will fit fine. If anybody is interested, I can post what a 245 looks like on a 9.5" rim. You won't believe how truly exposed the lip is.
