i have a 1964 1/2 mustang with a 260v8 with a 3 speed manual transmission. i decided that i am goin to put in a 302 from a 87 highway patrol mustang. i decided to go with a carb instead fuel injection. and i also want to put a 5 speed manual in instead of the 3 speed. what are the things that i will have to do to get this to work?

Noting much if your changing the entire driveline. You will need to get a driveshaft made though. And you will also need the linkage, and trans mount. The engin bolt up to stock engine mounts. I would personally try a cable setup for the clutch, but then again I have only assisted in manual trans changes never planned one. I did the same swap but a 89 5.0 (better cam) and carbed it. I used the same transmission cept I changed the front bellhousing. to a 6 bolt. Eventually tore that one up though.

Do you need a new driveshaft on a 68 as well? Just curious, as I had contemplated a 5.0 in my 68 coupe.
You have a 5.0 in there already 302=5.0 so if the motor is the only change that will be the only thing you will have to change.
