Ok so i talked with one of the dealers around tampa FL about intalling my Saleen kit on my 06 GT, they want 2700 bucks to do it! I think thats waaaaaay to much. Then the dealer that my Stang is sitting at right now said they'd do it for about 1000. The one that wants 2700 is a saleen dealer, the other isnt. I've only seen one other 05/06 Saleen clone and that was in a mag so i dont think there are many people that know what it would take to install one. Just wondering what you guys think. Iam almost sure i'll have the dealer that has my car do it because they can intall it all before i even pick up the car next month. Slowly learning that anything with the Saleen name on it isnt cheap at all haha.

well...if you look into what it takes to install it all...i dont have the tools/materials to do it myself. Or the skill to be honest.

that is a little on the high side. Assuming they charge $80/hr for body work...which is on the high side....that means it will take them over 33 hours to install.

Now...if the $2700 includes painting the kit and installing...thats a fair price.

My experience has been, don't skimp on the paint. Save up the extra bucks and go to guys that have a good reputation (would be nice if you have seen their work around town). You'll never regret spending money for a good paint job.

I'm having my Saleen front facia and hood installed and painted next week for 1500. I thought it was fair. 2700 seems a little steep, but i guess you have to factor in the changing of the exhaust too for a FULL saleen kit. I hate the Saleen exhaust so i went with a xenon rear, and street scenes side skirts. Should be interesting when it's all done. Personally, I'd pay the extra to ensure you're getting a good job, because 1000 for a full kit... seems a bit TOO good, you know?

Our Cervini's C-500 kit is only going to cost $2500 and that includes paint and stripes. Sounds a bit high to me. I mean, we're getting a hood, bumpers, side skirts, and spoiler, plus stripes, AND they're redoing the calipers and exhaust tips. Check around a bit more.

Guys 2700 does not seem high for what you are asking in this mod. Its a pay now or later issue. Get it done right the first time and be happy or allways regret haveing second best and not being happy with the end result.

Been their done that with a Paxxon super charger.

If it includes everything, yes paint too it's not a bad deal at all. Just check their previous work on other cars. The new paint should look sweet or don't mess with them. If someone is offering to do the install for 1k, I'd doubt the finished results will be that good. Just to paint a new hood (top and bottom) with a nice buff job would cost $400-$600.

A good paint job is expensive. A poor (read cheap) paint job can be even more expensive in the long run.

well, get this, Saleen says NOT to sand the TPO plastic body kit parts...NOT to sand them, just clean them and paint...so there is NO WAY i'll spend 2700 to have that done. If you look at saleens site and read the body kit prep instructions it says not to sand the parts or doing so will void warrenty on the parts.

If $2700 includes paint, then I would say go ahead. $2700 just for install would be rediculous, that's what I'm saying. But if that includes paint, then no, it's not bad at all. Just make sure you get references. I got references on the shop I went to, plus I told them I will not take delivery until it's done right. But they specialize in custom cars and body kits. So I'm not too worried.

For the money, if they offered paint, labor and warranty on their work then go for it!

iam having the dealer my car is at do it. They will paint the kit and install it and the exhaust for about 1200 with a warranty and they will start it next week so it will be done by the time i come home to pick it up.

Knight_rider69 make sure you read up on TPO plastic paint prep, Saleen says, and yes i talked to someone over the phone, that they do NOT need to be sanded unless they are damaged. Now the hood, its not TPO so it will need to be preped.
