I want one measurement please.....

There are 2 guys on this forum who say they run them on 17x8 rim.

Can you please take a 2x4 and hold them to each side of tire mounted on rim and measure space between the 2x4 so I can have an extremely accurate measurement of the section width on your tire please.

I appreciate your help.

I have been leveraging resources and here is what I have found out:

275 40 17 KDW on a 17x9.5 rim: exact measurement is 11.5 inch between the 2x4s Per Tirerack - section width is 10.9

275 40 17 goodyear F-1 on a 17x8 rim: exact measurement is 10.25 inch between the 2x4s Per tirerack - section width is 10.8

My 255 40 17 KDW on 17x8: exact measurement is 10 inch between the 2x4s. Tirerack - section width of 10.2

Sooo anyway the excercise....and why I am interested....Just picked up 275 40 17 BFG DR for DIRT CHEAP...and was thinking about running a 17x9.5 for them with custom backspacing...but it looks like I can gain over a full inch by staying with the 8 inch rim and living with the degraded contact patch. Since it is a drag radial I should get a little better performance out of it that my 255s. I suppose we will see

ill try to get out there this week and get some #s. I have the same 275 DR mounted on both 17x8 and 17x9s. Although, i do know that the BFG DRs are wider than my Nitto DRs...

Nick, let us know how they hook up for you with that monster! Also I'm not sure what you want them to do with the 2x4? I know I don't have 17s or 8 inches wide but I could measure my 15x7 for craps and giggles. Also what section does your 255s have?
