i have a chance to get a set of 275/45 17 goodyear eagle f1's for free and i was wondering if they would fit on my rim. my rims are 9.5" rims (i think) they are going on my 1996 GT. figured it would be ok to post here, i just want to know if that rim is to skinny. i think it is but wasnt 100% sure.

If the rims are the right offset you should be fine. Are you sure they are 45 series? Most run a 275/40/17 tire.

They'll fit. I'm running a 245/40/18 on the front on my 18x9 Y2K R wheels.

how did you measure them? mine are 10.5" OD, but thats not how they are measured. i'm guessing my rims are 9" or 9 1/2"....??? the width is measure from the inside, but not exacty sure from what point. somebody on here posted a pic for me once... but not sure who.
ps, i'm running 275/40//17's on the rear, and they fit but are very tight. under hard cornering, my fenderwells rub on the tire a bit. ( & i can see slight cuts in my new tires) and there is only about 1/8 to 1/4" clearance with my new kyb quads.... car is not lowered either...
