What bout 285's then..pushing it ...??
I would like change my wheels and tires. I would like to fill the wheel gap a little more. I' am looking at buying 18x9's on the front with 245/40 and 18x10's on the rear with 275/40/.
I have eibach springs on the car. Do you think I would have a clearence issue on the rears?
As for wheel size, whyask, it should be marked on the inside of the wheel. If not, then just take the tire off and measure between the insides of the lips. Usually, if you measure from the outside, it'll probably result in being 1" larger.on a nother note how I can I tell if my rear rim is 18x9 or 18x10, I bought the car used and the rims came with it.
My 275 bulged WAY more than that on a 9" wheel. It's all about the tire manufactureHmm... For all of those who say don't go bigger than a 275 on a 9" wheel.... I'm currently running 285/35/18 GS-D3's on my rear wheels, 18x9's. I love them, but I want to go to a 295 and I probably will. Now that i've ran a 285 out back on a 9" wheel for a year, I wouldn't go anything smaller.
For a little comparison..
265/35/18 up front with 285/35/18 out back. Both on 9" wheels. Notice how narrow the front tire is compared to the rear. The 285's look great out back on a 9" wheel; gives it a real "meaty" look
