so a few weeks ago 2nd gear started poping out while i drive. it dose it right when you shift into gear and start releasing the clutch mostly, but it sometimes dose it while braking or just accelerating. it is only doing it in 2nd and i took it to ford and they "said" they drove it and couldn't find anything wrong with it but its still doing it. any idea's what it might be? i thought possibly a worn out bearing but they said they looked ok. but i'm starting to wonder if they even looked at car and just said they did.

hey another Stang freak from the Couve, cool. Gears that pop out many times comes from a bad syncro. If you've been banging second this might be a possibility. Take the car to Ford and have a service tech ride along while you drive. Otherwise the techs never will find a problem. Especially if you're going to Vanc Ford. 3 times in my 3.0 Ranger and they couldn't hear the pinging, funny how Landmark heard it right away.

haha ya i took it to vancouver and they couldn't find it "if they even actually looked at my car" is landmark the best place to go? i originally bought the car at Premier ford in gladstone (****ty service but the best price at the time) and thats probably what it is because i do drop it into second alot.

it's a ways out of the way, but my stang goes to Gary Worth Lincoln in Gladstone. Great service, fully Ford certified of course and just a short trip around I-205 to the Gladstone exit.

I've been to both, I like both. Landmark was the only dealership that could figure out my spark plug problem on the Zetec 2.0 liter we used to have. But I've bought 3 cars now from Gary Worth, they're a smaller, family-type operation and you can actually talk to the service people, which I like. Yes Gary Worth is next to the Nissan dealership in Gladstone. We bought our stang there, and was very pleased with them and their service.

ok thanks i'll check into both delerships, i like the one in gladstone but the last time i took it there they left a nice little scratch in my black dash and put 50 miles on the stang so i've been a little hessitent to bring it back. i think they've changed names since then so they might be better now thanks!

the Ford dealership in Gladstone is not the same one I go to. Gary Worth is a Ford-authorized Lincoln-Mercury dealership. I don't go to Ford.

I am surprised you are having problems with Vancouver Fords service dept.. I have had nothing but great service from them on the old 05 and the 06.

I didn't bye either car from them either. The first was from Beaverton and the second from Priemer.

Did you take one of the service techs out in the car or did they take it out themselves?

they said they were pretty busy that day and they didn't have anyone to go out with me so they took it later in the day by themselves and it wouldn't do it. I was surprised too because i've never heard anything bad about them. The gear is still poping out but its not doing it as much as before.. not sure why.

If you haven't taken it any where else. I would suggest going back there and ask to talk to the service manager.

He seems to take care of the customer. He was the one who authorized his people to replace my master cylinder when Ford wanted to play games.

Hey was that you who was going to BOBs paint land last week.. I saw a black pony pull up on my left side but I was not paying attention.

my problem with Vanc Ford has always been the 'red-blue-yellow' service team leaders. Who are nothing more than salesmen. They get paid commissions on getting service in the door so instead of working to solve a service problem they're hustling. I like service dept's that have a knowlegeable service manager instead of a closer. Vanc Ford has a service manager, but you never get to see him.

I have never experienced them trying to sell me anything.

I have gotten great service from them on all of my tsb issues and other warrenty problems.

I have spoken with the service manager a number of times. He was there everytime I brought my 06 in for the brake cylinder problems.

I made made a complaint directly to the manager about thier quick lube area failing to notice the problem with the master cylinder at the 5k service.

He seems to me at least to be very concerned about his department.

I know for a while they were a nightmare to deal with.

When we had a Sable a few years ago and they were a nightmare to deal with.. they would do exactly what you said earlier about trying to sell you everhting under the sun that place was a nightmare then.

I think they have gotten better in the past couple of years.
