My car just started doing this recently, when I downshift every gear works fine except 2nd gear which pops out sometimes if I don't hold it into place. Is this a synchronizer problem?? How much does something like this cost to get fixed? Any info is appreciated.
The wise thing to do would be get a full trans rebuild kit from hanlon motosports, and have it installed by a local professional.
Kit is $169, labor on the rebuild if you pull the trans should be about $250.
Problem could be synchros or blocking rings. My buddy rebuilds them and sees all these syntoms all the time.
Mine actually did the same thing yours did, and i let it go, and go and go, until the destroyed the trans to the point it was junk.
