well the damn tumbler on the stang went out. for those who dont know what a tumbler is its where you stick the key in to start the car. the tumbler went out on my other car about 3 weeks ago (focus zx3) and i fixed that one. tomorrow i get to go to ford and buy a new one. the crappiest thing about the whole deal is to remove the tumblers you have to turn the key to the acces. position but my stupid thing doesnt even move so i gotta get out the drill again and drill the mutha out. anybody else have this problem. any tips you can offer.

how many keys are on your keyring? seriously if you have a bunch of keys on your keyring it will bust the tumbler.

ok before you drill it out try this

1. get a can of wd-40, PB blaster or any other penetrating oil

2. spray intot he lock cyl and then insert the key in the ign. if it will not go it insert it as far as you can and wiggle it and try to get it in.

3. tap the key with a hammer. do not try to turn it with the tapping. hit it straight into the lock cyl lightly. try this a few times then try to turn the key.

if this don't work after a few minutes then just drill it out. 99 percent of the time i get them out this way.

yeah the taping it with a hammer is for when the lock will not turn. so if it happens again. spray pb blaster in the lock hole insert key and tap with hammer after this you should be able to turn the key and pull the cyl out. works 999 out of 1000 times

maybe you go that 1 in a 1000 car
