OK guys I've got my car running again. I've got a Hensler Racing aluminum blocked 284ci. Filled with Manley rods, Diamond 8.5cr pistons, Cobra crank, Arp main, rod, and head hardware. I also installed the JDM Cobra fuel system. Patriot performance went through the heads and replaced the bent valve. They only had my heads about 5 days. I had the stock cams reinstalled. The comp 270 cams wasn't working well with the last motor. I picked up the engine Tuesday night. It took me by myself about 14 hours over the past 4 days to install everything. The engine fired right up. It runs so smooth. I put a 102 miles on it today and it feels alot stronger than the last engine. It will be on the dyno this coming Friday. I will find out how much hp the 46's can support.

Awsome, what was the 12.57 @ 110 pass? I should be buying HP TTs (stg 1) sometime next year, maybe the next. Should have my 04 payed off by this month next year, then i have to supercharge my 66 and through in a new tranny, also need to build up my 9 inch rearend....so your not the only one spending alot of $$$$ LOL. How do the turbos spool? by like 3500RPMs? And was it the comp 270s that made you bend your valves? BTW you dont happen to live in Tx do you? I know of a guy going with a simular setup in his silver GT, but im pretty sure I was told that he had ALL VT stuff.(heads, cams STG 2...and forged SB W/ STG 1 TTs) Hope I dont see him anymore on the street after all that gets done LOL. Anyways good luck and let us know how much boost your running, along with the #s. From what I heard, Tim said STG 1 are usually good for the upper 500s to the wheels.

I HIGHLY reccomend waiting till you put at the least 5k miles on the engine before you put it on the dyno. You do a dyno pull your RPMs are gonna be pretty high up there for awhile. I would put at least 5k miles on the engine, keeping it under 3500 rpm for the first 3k then gradually going up in the RPM range. Let the rods stretch and the rings get to their full reach on the cylinder walls. Change the oil and put synthetic in there before the pull.

The 12.57 pass was n/a with patriot, comp 270, and 4.30 gear. Yes, boost starts at 3100rpm. A broken rod caused the bent valve. I live in Ohio. I will try and max out the turbos.

 :hail2: your a very lucky man. keep us posted on how it does on the dyno and the track :nice:

I did make it to a dyno. It was a mustang dyno and it wouldn't read my rpm or lbs of boost. I had to rev it to 2000rpm and hold it there until the info was loaded into the computer. By that time it was running warm. It was hard to read all the different info to tune it better. I'm going to a different dyno in a couple of weeks. It did make 412rwhp @5250rpm and 462rwtq @4250 with 10lbs. That is where I was letting off. The hp was still climbing. I'm trying to break the engine in a little more before reving it any more. The a/f was 11.5. The guy that owns the dyno said it reads about 12% lower than a dynojet. It feels like an animal. It goes 0 to 60 4.2 seconds spinning all of first and second.

those number are damn good :nice:

a friend of mine worked at a ford dealer where they had a mustang dyno installed (gullo ford in conroe, north of houston) and they'd dyno modded 'o3 cobras that put down like 330rwhp avg., same with lightnings. gt's would barley break 200

yes , your right. The stage 1 TT from HP should give you around 500HP , as they are controlled at 8lbs from HP. But you can pull 15lbs of boost with them using a boost controller , and that will give you about 700RWHP...ONLY from the 46mm stage one TT :nice: .As the poeple from HP told me.
anyone interested in the kit, Let me know I will send you the Whole conversation with the people from HP Twin turbos.

5k miles? LoL u crack me up man.

nice starter #'s y2k, things will only get better :nice:

I went to the track tonight. The car was full weight and I had my street tires set at 40psi. The first pass I took real easy. The second pass was a bracket run. What do you know second pass with combo and I won. I still let off at the big end just after I passed the Z28. I didn't want to break out. The last pass I didn't let off except in first gear. As I had to do every pass. I just spun. I would let off and then catch second. It still spun in second. I did not even try to heat the tires. The car was just as it is on the street. I don't think the times were to bad for street tires.
Engine is still set at 10psi.
