Buddy who says take out rear end for Gear Swap.....=Find New Buddy
Too funny! But true. No need to take out the rear End at all. Your buddy is either a moron, or has no freakin clue about mustangs. Either way, I probably wouldnt let him work on my car.

He may be confused with some of the older muscle cars with different rear ends that you could basically take the whole assembly out. There is no need to remove the whole thing, just pull the differential out. My dad was talking to me about the older rear ends that you could basically just pull the whole thing off the car, and put it on a bench and do your work there. Good luck getting em in alright.
