Too funny! But true. No need to take out the rear End at all. Your buddy is either a moron, or has no freakin clue about mustangs. Either way, I probably wouldnt let him work on my car.

There is no need to remove the rear end. The diff is opened up but the rear end stays under the car. Please tell me this "buddy" is not the guy doing your install

He may be confused with some of the older muscle cars with different rear ends that you could basically take the whole assembly out. There is no need to remove the whole thing, just pull the differential out. My dad was talking to me about the older rear ends that you could basically just pull the whole thing off the car, and put it on a bench and do your work there. Good luck getting em in alright.

I hope you take these guys advice and consider it a second opinion, there is no need to remove the rear end, unless you have a lot of time to kill.
