I have no expierience with any other gear but the 3.73's, I felt the difference,as far as track times I never went to the track with stock gears. I had 3.73's installed at 500 miles. I would definately recommend them, but if you plan to stay N/A go with the 4.10's. I am/will eventually have a power adder..............one of these days!!!

Haven't been to the track. But as for street use, it gets up and go's a little quicker even though you loose 1-2 mpg. It's still bury the speedo without worry of running out of top end.

3.73's give a noticeable SOTP gain, and don't affect the MPG's much (unless you continuously "test" them out ).......

I'd suggest 3.90 or 4.10's though. The MPG's really isn't gonna be bad at all if the car is driven nice. The RPM's are much higher than 3.73's at all, and the gains are better

I was gonna go with 3.90's but I thought I remembered seeing that they aren't FRPP gears and I want FRPP gears.

Brother put 3.73's in his 01 GT auto. I've road and drove his car before and after the gear swap. Personally, they did give a nice improvement, however, there was room for more. Thus, I'm going with 4.30's. If your going boosted or already are boosted, 4.30 gears might be too steep. 3.73's tends to be the best all around gear for boosted GT's.

I like my 4.30's

Man, you should go w/ the 3.90's then. There are ring and pinions out there that are just as good and/or better than FRPP.

If you're just going w/ the 3.73 b/c of who makes it, you should go w/ 4.10's. If not, you'll be disappointed later

If it's a 5 spd, daily driver, I still recommend 3.73s. I think the 4.10s in my wife's 01 5spd GT are just a little steep, IMO. 1st gear is more or less useless, and when turning onto a street, 2nd gear is too low and 3rd gear is too high. With my 3.73s, 2nd gear is perfect. Again, just my opinion, my 2 cents.
If you plan to run the quarter often, 4.10s (or maybe more) might be for you. But I am very happy with 3.73s...made a HUGE difference over stock. Gas mileage...who cares?!?! Anyway, depending on how much you like to bury your foot into the firewall will have more impact than what the gears will do.

I noticed you had both gears. I've been meaning to ask what the RPM difference on the freeway is and what size tires and wheels you have and SOTP difference. Thanks

Would 3.73s be a good choice with an automatic?

Here's the link to a gear calculator. Just punch in the gear ratio, transmission, tire size, etc. and it will determine your rpms/speed for you.

If you're talking about for you're 02 GT, I recommend you see my first post in this thread. If youre staying n/a, then anything less than 4.10's probably isnt worth it. Just my opinion. If you're boosted or going boosted, then 3.73's are fine.
