Alright, the car is going in for a fuel pump, injectors and a chip/dyno tune. They cut the cost for me quite a bit because i go there a lot which was awesome. Its going in on Tuesday so ill post my numbers up either Tuesday night or Wednesday. Im excited to see what kind of power this thing can make

is there that big of a difference between 3.55 and 3.73 in fuel economy?

I have never had 3.55, but i couldnt imagine there being a huge difference, even with the 3.73's if you dont drive the car hard you still can manage some good gas mileage. Being able to use 5th gear to pass is nice though You should look through all of the other forums and look at both sides though. there are plenty of 3.55 vs 3.73's and 3.73's vs 4.10's out there.

Called up and found out what my car did on the dyno. 294 HP to the wheels and 301 TQ. For as mild as my set up is im pretty happy with that. Supercharger going on within the next 3-4 months. Its going to be fun Maybe i could get it done before next season.

Not really. In 5th gear at 70mph there is only 100 rpm difference between 3.55:1 gears and 3.73:1 gears. It all depends on your set up and driving style/habits ect.

Thanks Its been fun but the HP bug hit me, Wish it didnt, my plan was to just get good track times but with the track being closed its so easy to save up money and put something else into the mix. Its a fun car and i cant wait to be done...even though thats not possible

i have a buddy that has a coupe with a 306 with afr 165's, edelbrock intake and an OTS comp cam and he put down 340-something rwhp on a dynojet, don't remember the torque number.

great progress, btw! you shouldn't have any problems what-so-ever hitting 12's now!

haha! Nice but with 294rwhp you can be we'll into the 12's now!

My Mach 1 was running 12.1's@116mph with only 294rwhp and 312rwtq.

It's possible.

Every think of doing mods that don't add hp but remove weight instead?

Well my car is the GTS, im not sure what the exact weight of it is. kind of hard to find. So its already on a pretty nice diet from the normal gt's. Im keeping everything stock "looks wise". If someone can find the stock weight of a normal gt vs a gts that'd be cool my car doesnt have power options (door locks, cruise controll, power seats, power windows) It also doesnt have fog lights or a rear spoiler.

Ill post a scanned picture of the dyno sheet, it was 294.94 rwhp and 301.99 rwtq on a dynojet. I also found out D/R's dont mix with snow/ice! Rain was easy and i've put more then 5k miles on these nittos but the snow/ice was pretty funny. where i went to pick up the car it was clear but at my house it was still covered in ice. Supposed to snow some more too so im not to sure how thats going to go. The car came with some very old studded tires that do nothing lol. I'll have to wait to get on it and see what the tune has done

Okay, took me awhile. But here is the dyno sheet. glad i got it too because the S/C one is coming up next and it will be fun to see the difference.

I've been driving around in snow and trying to get this thing to pass DEQ, os i have'nt been on here for a little bit. I think im going with Kenne Bell but Vortech offers so much more if i want to upgrade. But this will still be my DD so i have plenty of time to do something crazy down the road. for now this set up will do with a kenne bell

Got the car to pass the sniff test. I have also got some parts on the way to make the S/C install/tune easier. Only problem i have right now is deciding on a S/C. Vortech or Kenne Bell. If you have some input on this im all ears.

They should put a huge warning on these cars, like (May cause massive money loss due to modding addiction) So i got everythin set up besides the install. Im going to be running a methonal kit with this set up. Should help me keep my stock block for a little longer the tune and the install might be awhile down the road. wasnt expecting it to cost so much. id love to install this stuff myself but there is so much going into the car i need it done fast (My job is pretty far away and its a 6-6 deal so i cant get there any other way besides my car) Once its all in and i get the #'s back ill post the Dyno sheet and how i feel about it. The S/C is the V1, i cant dish out the extra money for the V2. Wich is fine, i love the sound of the V1 at idle/start up. Thanks for reading guys!

Maybe i can skip 300hp and 12 seconds?

I already installed a 96' 5.0 Explorer intake manifold with explorer injectors. It made a great improvement. The explorer one's I have are 19 pounds like stock, but they atomize the fuel better.
