3 X's in the valley of a 302?

My friend and I moved his motor today and I saw 3 X's(XXX) in the valley.Is this any signifigence?Its a 302 out of a 84 1/2 GT350.

Mine is roller block and it has xxx in the lifter valley. MAy have something there. Not really really sure but i think it is a roller block

No GT350 made came with a roller motor.

All 5.0 "HO" motors come with XXX or YYY in the lifter valley.

This meant the later roller years and the early non-roller years

no we didnt part it out hes just in the process in restoring it(restomod).

What does the # on the corner of the heads mean (drivers side front edge)? I havent seen them on my other stangs I guess because they have all those accessories in the way. Its a 91 SSP car. Probably stock E7s I guess.

If they have E7TE stamped under the head facing the lifter valley then they are E7s. Thats how you identify them.You cant see the casting # unless they are off the motor.
