at least 75, IMO..it's hard to just swap parts without upgrading, 75 isn't unreachable IMO

A good rule of thumb is 1 h.p per cubic inch if all else remains the same. I would guess a bit more than 1 lb/ft torque per cube because of the added stroke. All of the extra cid is coming from stroke not bore.

I think only 20 hp or so. The same HCI means you are running 302 parts. If you run 302 parts in a 351, it will run like a 302.

I assume you mean a '93 HO 5.0 engine...?! The 5.0 has 9.0 to 1 compression with 63cc heads. The '74 351 pistons have a huge dish. That engine is made for 8.2 to 1 compression with 60cc heads. So, if you have stock pistons in both engines, and heads with the same chamber size, the comparison will not include equal compression ratios.

I havent measured the pistons in the 351 but the cylinder walls are in great shape still some good honeing marks the tops of the pistons are stamped 40? So maybe 40 over? I just need a idea on a cam and lifter set to put in it'll have GT40P's ported polished with 1.6 roller rockers, trick flow R upper lower intake acufab 70MM T.B C&L76MM MAF 24# injectors. I'm going to stay non roller and want a nice loppy cam but also hope for 400/400 or more at the wheels N/A

Try a Motorsports A351 cam. It is hydraulic flat tappet, about $75. through Summit. I ran 11's with that cam and a low compression 351 (EFI) . Your pistons are .040 over. You can go to .060

Also the Intake will not fit from a to a 5, taller deck means wider valley. Heads yes, cam maybe yes, but not lower intake. Like someone said, heads intake will cost you much power, not even worth the trouble of the swap.

You could probably spend all the $ for the 351 and swap parts on better H/C/I for the 302 see higher net increase...

I know what will and wont fit the 2 engines. I didnt mention i will be getting the 351 trick flow R intake the heads will work just need to drill the bolts out.I just needed to know what cam to install. The heads are to just get it going for now, i want to eventullay go 408 with a nice turbo? I'm getting it to the running and bug free point over the next 2 years till i go back east for good. peace

If you want 400/400 @ the wheels OR More you would need more than 450hp @ the crank. I don't see that with your heads.

Heres a link to Edelbrock and their packages. They got 451hp and 433tq but they had to step up on the heads. I didn't look at the cam specs. Their dyno chart does not seem to come up though. This still wouldn't give you 400 in torque @ the wheels. I have never heard of these heads either, RPM XT? They must be a ported version of the RPM's.
Victor Jr heads will make the power you are after, I just don't see it happening with your heads at all.

I have a set of lightly used (about 3000 miles) SRP .40 over forged full floating flat tops with rings. $100 That would bump your comp up for some more HP. Toss a Motorsport F cam in there and you should be close to your goal IMO.

This is a great cam. Duration @.050 is 236/246 with .520"/.538" lift. They installed it with a 2 deg retard in the 351 HO crate engine with the J302 alum heads they made 385hp, 377ft lbs. http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/28939_351_ho_svo_crate_engine/index.html

This cam is 226deg@.050 with .512" lift but he does not have a late model roller block. The Z303 is 228deg@.050 and .552" Lift.

Anyway John I don't think you will make 450+ hp with any of these cams and your heads.
But what do I know anyway??
