302 460 distributors

providing you have the right gear for the cam you are using, are the distributors the same?

i want to use a duraspark II distributor in my carb 460 motor for my mustang

will this work

I doubt the dist will be the same between a 302 and 460.
But I have been wrong before...

Nope

Gotta get a 460 dist. The oil pump drive shafts are different size, and I think some other dimensions are different. If you really want Duraspark II, get a 351M-400 dist., they are available at the local auto parts store and are plentiful at the junkyards. The 351C-351M-400-429?-and-460 all share the same dist. You'd have to get a new gear and dist. to make it work.
