haha, have fun with that project.... I saw some guy w/ a focus hatchback at the track this past weekend and the car was a complete joke. Mustang rear, coil overs, 350hp 5.0 crate engine, etc... ran 15.2 in the low 90mph range all night long. (1/4 mile track) ....I doubt you'll see anywhere near 10's

must NOT have known how to drive. I have a 2.0 Zetec and it has cams light weight fly exhaust and clutch and I run 15.9 so yeah no clue how to drive PS was the car yellow??

11.65 isn't 10's and did you ever take into consideration you'll have no traction? You'll sit there and spin all day long just like this guy. I have it on video.

Yeah, that is true. FWD cars have LOT'S of problems hooking up. My friend's SRT-4, with slicks, solid motor mounts, decent suspension setup still spins 1st 2nd and into 3rd at the track. Weight transfer is a b**** in FWD cars.

The t5 should hold up pretty well if you're good to it. Slicks may be pushing it, but others would know better than I.

That motor was pretty sad when you started on it!

As some will probably chime in, T5's in stock form have run some insanely low ET's and been behind insanely high crank HP.

As vristang said, it'll hold up...IF you are good to it.

And thanks for pointing out about the kit converting it to RWD. Man, that sounds pretty BA...heh, I'd rather cram a 5.0 into a civic coupe though...more of a shocker to someone in the lane next to you.

Keep us posted, pics, etc!

If money is not an issue, get a Dart 302 Man O War block. 4 bolt mains, way stronger than any other 302 you would find.

But since you have the 302 already from '98, do a stroker...331 or 347. Some will say 331 to keep it reliable and not leak oil. A properly done 347 would not leak/burn oil though.

And yeah, 300+ rwhp and you should be in the 10's with such a tiny car.

Not to be a dick, but just to clear things up and any confusion that may ensue.. The dart block would either be a sportsman or an Iron Eagle, The Man O War black is made By World

No,I think they are either Dart (self imployed for lack of a better term, damn english class) or are owned by Holley maybe.

Why dont you just go with h/c/i N/A and then a large shot of nitrous. That way you can drive it everyday and scare the **** out of people on the street?

The new bbk intake sucks.

You dont need a supercharger to hit 350rwhp.

If your going to do the swap, go big or go home. 408 stroker, and it would be an absolute beast. Or just a non stroked 351 with some mild heads, cam, will easily put you @ 350rwhp and will be very very streetable.

did you find that engine at the bottom of a lake??? jesssssus look at those pistons...LOL. well anyways post up picks when you get it back. Personally i am going 331 Probe Flat tops, TFS high ports, custom cam and either a track heat or RPMII intake. should be closer to 400 rwhp hopefully. i dont plan on my t-5 lasting long...and sure as hell dont plan on being good to it.
