I would save and go forged..little more cash, but you may end up wanting a little more. Don't limit yourself...hell a buddy may make you the deal of a lifetime on a blower...you'd be kicking yourself then...hey could happen.

you can actually use mild to moderate amounts of boost w/KB pistons, you just have to gap the rings more...then again, you have to do that with any forcefed engine...

Well, they're pretty good pistons. Both my brother and I use them (domed units) in our naturally aspirated, stock rod, stock crank 306's that both produce 300+ rear wheel horsepower (307 mine/311 his.) Both cars run 12's @ 107-110. We shift these engines at 6,800 rpms too.

His had been built for close to 9 years (with close to 75 runs down the track and close to 70,000 miles) but he rebuilt it this year as it began to blow smoke out the exhaust. When he disassembled it, he found that the rings had worn down and were slopping in the ring grooves. After miking up the ring gaps, he discovered that the pistons were within the stock specs. He bought new rings and reused the pistons and hasn't had a problem with them yet. In fact, he redynoed the car and it produced 20 more horsepower than it did 5 years ago!

I've had them in in mine for a year and a half and they have yet to give me a problem.

I'd say you're good to go if you decide to buy/use them. If you stay naturally aspirated, you'll never have a problem if it's built right.
