308 or 306 ?

well if you have wear on the block your going to need maching in order to get a proper seal. But I wouldnt go any more than 30 over giving you a 306. IMO it weaken the cylinder walls and cooling isnt as good either. There isnt much if any HP advantage between 302 and 308.

I wouldn't take any more off the walls than .030 (306) if your planning on boost. Do the .030 if you have a used block that hasn't been bored/line honed...do the 302 if you have a new block. Stock piston size...

You will be plenty fine, just get a good tune...

Not much difference in hp between a 302, 306, or 308...maybe just a few hp...

Good Luck

you can bore a stock block .060 but then the walls get thin.. and they tend to run hot.. which with boost is a no no.. as stated before the difference between a 306 and 302 hp is marginal.. but if you have to bore the block do not go more then about .030.. hell if its a new block leave it alone.. just have it honed to make sure u get a nice ring seal.. as for 5 lbs of boost.. yes a stock block can handle 5lbs of boost.. just make sure it doesn't run lean.. so just make sure u get a good tune..

im thinking of buying one of these engines but im not sure what add ons i should get
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...cmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33615QQitemZ8054896621 Any Aftermarket Camshaft - $180
Forged Pistons - $350
TFS Main Stud Girdle w/ ARP Main Bolts - $200
ARP high-performance connecting rod bolts - $85 [/B]
i was thinking i should get the forged pistions, the cam, and the connecting rod bolts, but should i get the main stud girdle?(not sure what it is)

The main stud girdle bolts onto your crank caps and keeps everything tied together in case your block decides to crack...just keeps it less "messy"...

I wouldn't waste you money on it personally...good luck!
