31 spline axles and diff

Im thinking about upgrading to a 31 spline setup. Can someone recommend a good differential and axles? I am needing them for a 95GT with ABS. I was looking at Summit b/c I need the parts fast but they don't have much selection. Thanks

Well your best bet is going with a detriot locker.. but if you can make that price range i think eaton is next in line.. I have a eaton and moser 31 splines in my LX.. Haven't had any problems at all with them, even when my car was supercharged.. i bought them through year one.. decent price.. www.yearone.com you can get the moser axles from this guy for a good price too www.jdsperformance.com

I have the eaton with moser 31 splines and 3.73 gears. I have had that set up for about 50,000 miles and haven't had any noise out of the rear end and it still lays down 2 nice strips of rubber. My car has probably been through the burnout box over 1000 times since I had the rear.

Im pushing 516 to the wheels and have had no problems with my auburn and 31 spline superior axles. All from summit racing.

smokdoiley...what kind of axle bearings did u use and what c clips did u use? i have 31 spline moser axles, but i need the bearings and c-clips..thanks

The jdsperformance.com site posted by HO93LX302 had a Moser package for evertyhing needed "I think" for a new rear... 33 spline axles, spool, c clip eliminators and 1/2" x 3" studs for $559. Does this seem like a pretty good deal to you guys?? I am wondering about 33 over 31 spine.. c-clip eliminators... and by Moser Spool I assume they mean Differential?? Is this a good Diff. and easlily rebuildable??

Well you don't want a spool if your going to be driving on the street.. not good.. thats all time posi.. theres no rebuilding those, both axles go in and spin at the same time and speed.. so if your turning into a road say both wheels will be going the same so they will skip and tires will squeal a bit

Thanx Justin.. it's nice to know the difference between the two. If anyone knows any places to get good prices on Diff. / axles packages I'd greatly appreciate it.
