I havent been around in a while, i was talking with a friend who has 429 out of a 68 tbird in a 33 dodge coupe. hes working on a build up on it and he needs a new harmonic balancer, The tricky part here is the engine has been balanced allready with the original balancer and while assembling the engine he scene the balancer had spun and pulled forward, the balancer is the type that has 2 v belt pulley grooves and now they are out of alignment,
I guess the questions we have here are:
where could we find a stock 68 429 balancer (3 bolt)?
will the balancing of the engine be altered since the old balancer was used and it has been spun?
could a after market balancer be an option in this case?
We are going to contact the machine shop and see what they have to say on monday but i knew thered be some guys on here that would have some input..
